What snacks can I eat for my diet other than pies, ice cream, and cookies?

ummmmm asked:

I am on a diet and between meals I get really hungry. What kind of healthy snacks can I eat besides cookies, ice cream, and pies?

First off, none of those are healthy.

    cheese and crackers?

carrots, celery, apples, oranges, bananas, granola bar, grapes

hell, any fruit or veggie would work

That sounds like MY kind of diet with those snacks! I hope this isn’t a diet for LOSING weight! …. if you eat enough of those snacks, you’ll certainly be watching your weight though; watching it add up when you step on the scale! …. some fresh fruit might be a refreshing change:)

    How about fruits?

Get a juicer – really cheap today and makes awesome drinks and flavors for fruit.

A cool idea is make certain flavors, add low-cal sweeteners and soak fruit in it overnight for mouthwatering flavor, which you can make a fruit salad/cocktail with the next day.

How about a low-cal apple sauce, or low-cal kumquat marmalade topped onto low-cal biscuits or granola?

Be creative. Or do a good Google search for such ideas. There’s tons.

Once you get used to this type of food, the cookies, cakes and ice creams will feel too heavy afterwards.

Like everyone says, fresh fruits and vegetables are best. Drink plenty of water all day. Add a few drops of lemon juice to flavour it. I also found that drinking large quantities of green and wulong tea has helped me stay hydrated especially during workouts. I usually prepare a 2-litre in the morning and drink it all day, even cold. Wulong is incidentally the same as the “miracle” weight-loss tea “as seen on TV”.

Edit: We all got thumbs down. There is conspiracy against skinny people in America LOL.

    Need to lose weight?

You most likely wont lose weight by going “on a diet”
You have to change your mind set, eating habits and way of life.

Look at the back of packages and pick things with Zero sugar.
( which unfortunately cuts out a lot of favorites)

Lots of good foods have all ready been mentioned, so I wont repeat them.
Try that Lipton Diet Green or White Tea instead of pop. Its still sweet but no sugar.
Look at the back of some sherbets, Im not sure but some of the ices arent as bad as ice cream.
