What do find is positive about being obese or very obese?

Chubby asked:

I am super obese (BMI over 50) and love it. There is so much negativity out there from those that are obese and want to lose weight and others who critisise us that I thought it would be nice to redress the balance.
Girl, does that make a difference?

    Slim down – remove fat

There is nothing wrong with being obese- however if you start to have heart conditions or problems, then you have no choice- you gotta lose weight.
If you’re happy with it, then dont worry! In third world countries, being obese is beautiful.

    Want to lose weight?

I’m on the very obese side (BIM over 40) and have accepted it. I don’t actively try to lose weight and if it happens, it happens. I exercise when I can, eat what I want and there you have it.

I don’t have to worry about if I should eat this or if I should eat that. If I’m in the mood, I’ll eat it and if I’m not, I won’t.

I don’t have to stress about the fact that I had an extra donut today and so have to go to the gym for another hour, and that means I have to push off this, and miss that, and oh my god I’m going to die.

We’re all going to die, that is a given. Most of us don’t even get the dignity to choose how we go, so I figure live life as you find it and there you go.

Each one of us has the right to choose the way we want to be. If that means we want to remain obese, that is our choice. The key is to understand what that means and be happy and confident with our choice.

With my own size and weight (over 600), I like the feeling of being large and I like to show my size in a fashionable way. As I gained my weight, I understood the challenges that come with being very large. I also enjoyed the way I felt and what it meant to be my size.

I do exercise (walking and swimming) and I still enjoy eating. Best of all, I am happy with my size.
