Should obese Americans be made to go to a physical conditioning camp?

Frank Capo asked:

Since so many Americans are so portly and chunky in the butt, should the obese ones be required to attend a physical conditioning education camp? It could be like a 12 week program or a program after work or on the weekends.
They can have mandatory rehab camps for druggies also if you guys want. I think the mandatory camps are good because it does something positive for the people who are obese and since their are no jobs now it would give a lot of people something positive to do.

No, this would likely get noted as a detainment which would violate civil rights.

They should be allowed to if they want to and have the government that is so worried about them pay for it. Yep I’d do that for sure. I don’t like being fat and started exercising last year, problem is, the weight is not coming off but I feel a whole lot better.

No. That is their decision to be obese. But the fact is that most obese people don’t really have the time or the ability to try and make a lifestyle change. Should there be a 12 week program for overly judgmental people as well?

That would be prejudice. Do you feel like going to a program after work? Who would pay for this, the government? And raise our taxes for it? Great Idea! As if I am not paying enough. Think before you ask stupid questions.

I think that’s almost kind of “racist” to obese people. People with alcohol problems or drug problems aren’t always required to go to rehab or whatever, so why should obese people?

Mandatory? Land of the Free? Sounds like land of the discriminatory! Would the anorexics have to go to beef up? Would it be waived for fat politicians? Could skinny people sell their “fat credits” ? Would we invade “fat” countries calling them “fatheads” Perhaps we could just save the money and not allow them to MARRY,after all they made the choice to be fat define marriage as between a skinny man and a skinny woman. Hey, really strange idea, why not let people who are different from us settle their own fate without new discriminatory laws.
